It
is possible for non-Cypriots to obtain permission
to invest and/or establish operations in Cyprus (i.e.
production facilities, shops etc) and trade within
Cyprus . The procedures and regulations differ for
EU and Non EU residents. Cyprus ’ accession into the
EU made the procedures for EU residents relatively
straight forward. EU resident are allowed to engage
in any of the above activities without many formalities.
For Non EU residents new requirements have been enacted
to facilitate foreign direct investment into Cyprus
but in some cases a special license needs to be
obtained from the Central Bank of Cyprus and/or other
authorities which depends upon various factors.
